2 local flower shops in Polk County
Windsor Heights has two florists, the 5th largest selection in Polk County, where Des Moines accounts for 15 on its own. That is a small enough choice that same-day work is worth phoning about rather than assuming, particularly on the run-up to a holiday when a small shop books out quickly.
If nothing here suits, the nearest larger choice is West Des Moines, about 2 miles away, with 3 florists. Bear in mind that a shop delivering out of its own town will usually charge more for it and may need more notice.
Chrysanthemums, dahlias and autumn foliage are all local now, and dahlias in particular will be better than anything shipped in. The season closes sharply with the first frost.
Only 2 florists are listed under Windsor Heights itself. Most shops around here file their address under Des Moines, where there are 15, about 4 miles away.
